DM Training Consultants Ltd is operated by Donna Maver and Debbie Martin. We have built up a large portfolio of courses and VQ Programmes for you to access. The expertise of our team enables us to deliver these effectively through our Awarding Body Accreditations.
A variety of training initiatives will be offered to participants on the programme which will include E–Learning, short courses and industry statutory courses.
Donna Maver – Director
Donna has worked in the Hospitality industry for over 15 years, having completed
her BA(Hons) in Hospitality Management from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen
in 1993.
Training and Development has been a key factor in her success and has recently achieved her VQ in Management at Level 5.
Donna's role within the business is to develop and deliver a variety of training courses. These include the REHIS Elementary and Intermediate Food Hygiene, tailoring The Introduction to Hazard Analysis & HACCP Course to suit the food business.
Donna has recently worked in collaboration with REHIS to develop the Intermediate Food Hygiene as an e-learning package.
Debbie Martin – Director
Debbie has an extensive and varied career over the past 25 years in the
Hospitality Industry attaining Fellowship to the Institute of Hospitality in 2001.
Debbie has operational and management experience through Imperial College, London and Vaux/Swallow Hotel Group.
In recent years, Debbie has focussed on Learning and Development, working with the HCTB/HCTC in various offices. Debbie has been involved with SVQs in Hospitality under the Skillseeker & Modern Apprentice Training programmes for several years. At DM Training she is the Senior Assessor for Hospitality, Management and Customer Service SVQs and also acts as a qualified internal verifier.
Debbie has achieved a Level 4 SVQ in Learning & Development to back up her expertise in this area.
Michelle Towler
Michelle has previously worked in the Child Care Sector and has recently completed her VQ in Management at Level 4.
Looking for a change in career path, Michelle looked at taking on her skills as manager to a new level and joined the team at DM Training. Michelle has recently completed her Train the Trainer Course and will be adding her expertise to the DM Training portfolio.
Having completed her A1 Assessor Award, Michelle is now assessing Customer Service Level 2, 3 and Management level 3, 4. Michelle also delivers the Retail Works Pre-employment training in partnership with The Foyer, Aberdeen.
Mike Robins
Mike Robins, our Associate Trainer, will be offering the SQA - Scottish Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (both On and Off Sales) on behalf of DM Training Consultants Ltd.
Mike has had an extensive career in hotel management spanning 40 years working for large companies such as Stakis Hotels, MacDonald Hotels, Centre and De Vere Hotels. He owned the County Hotel in Stonehaven for the past 10 years and has been a Licensee for over 20 years with an unblemished record. Mike is now semi-retired and has become an accredited trainer to deliver the Personal Licence Holders Course because in his words he wants to “put something back into an industry that has been my whole working life”.
Jane Gray
Jane has had a varied and extensive career in Nursing and Health and Social Care spanning 20 years, gaining a nursing qualification and completed her Level 3 VQ in Health and Social Care.
Whilst working in Health and Social Care, Jane achieved her A1 and V1 award, qualified as a Manual Handling trainer along with delivering and assessing First Aid Courses.
She has completed her Train the Trainers Course, IOSH Managing Safely and is awaiting the results of her NEBOSH General Certificate
